After a day full of rain and humidity, the next morning the fog hung deep in the valley, the clouds almost seemed to touch the ground. The day before, I had already explored this special section of forest on a mountain slope, surrounded by mighty spruces and firs that were lined up close together. Even then, I felt the magical atmosphere and the enchanted beauty of this place.
That morning, it was so mystically quiet that you could hear your own breathing. The air was heavy with moisture, the lush green of the forest floor seemed to glow, and the mist lay like a gentle veil over the area. This floating calm, captured in "Verborisia," expressed a power that was overwhelming in its silence.
The photo was taken using analogue technology (panorama camera on colour film) and captures the subtle nuances of nature in its most original form. It is an image that not only captures the moment, but also the fleeting beauty and the intense atmosphere that is often particularly noticeable after rain. With this image I also want to show the special power of fog, which cannot be seen as an obstacle but as an enrichment - an element that enlivens nature in a quiet but haunting way.
